How Lane7 unified its technology to support rapid expansion

As competitive socialising continued to grow, Lane7 needed its technology to keep pace with an increasingly ambitious venue portfolio. The business had expanded from seven to 21 locations across the UK and Ireland, alongside new sites in Berlin and Dublin.

But its existing restaurant systems were not built for Lane7’s distinctive operating model: gaming-led venues with food and drink as a vital part of the overall guest experience. The team needed greater flexibility, stronger integrations and a more practical way to manage a fast-growing multi-site estate.

Client:
Lane 7

Industry:
Competitive Socialising

Scale:
21 venues across the UK and Ireland, with expansion into Berlin and Dublin

Challenge:
Disconnected systems & limited scalability across a fast-growing multi-site estate

The Challenge

One connected operation

Lane7 needed a single hospitality technology ecosystem that could give its head office better visibility, reduce manual work at venue level and provide a consistent foundation for future openings.

That meant connecting bookings, EPOS, payments, ordering, kitchen operations, stock and reporting, without forcing every venue into an inflexible operating model. The priority was simple: give teams the confidence to focus on guests and growth, rather than managing disconnected systems.

“The venues are very individual… all centred around gaming, which is our primary focus. The old system was not as flexible as we required and did not allow us to integrate with as many systems as we needed.”

John Roberts, Head of IT, Lane7

The Solution

An integrated Tevalis estate

Following an upgrade to its booking platform with Booked It, Lane7 was introduced to Tevalis. A demonstration of Tevalis EPOS, enterprise modules and integration capability showed how the platform could support the brand’s specific requirements.

The rollout was delivered through a carefully coordinated 10-week programme. Tevalis engineers worked across every venue, before the full estate migrated in a single day.

Lane7 now operates:

  • 120 Tevalis EPOS terminals.
  • 168 TevX mPOS devices.
  • Six kitchen management systems.
  • Tevalis Business Analytics, Centralised Management and Finance Management.
  • Connected integrations with Dojo, Booked It, Preoday and ProcureWizard.

This gives Lane7 one embedded platform across its estate, while allowing connected specialist systems to support the individual needs of its venues.

The Result

Visibility, efficiency and freedom to grow

Real-time visibility across the estate

The Darlington head office now has clear, current insight into venue performance and cash management across the group. Berlin is the only site that accepts cash, making this central visibility particularly valuable for consistent oversight.

Less manual multi-site management

Price changes, stock updates and day-to-day estate management no longer depend on the same level of manual intervention. Teams have more time to focus on operational priorities, new openings and the guest experience.

A repeatable model for new venues

Lane7 was able to launch sites in Berlin and Dublin using the same established configuration as its UK venues. This provides a more reliable, scalable approach as the business continues to expand.

A smoother experience for guests

Dojo mobile payment pockets and self-service group ordering help guests pay and split bills at the table. This removes the need for end-of-night card handling and gives groups more freedom during their visit.

“Tevalis’ software has made the management of multi-sites considerably easier. We have freed up a significant amount of time to focus on other priorities, rather than the management of the POS and stock systems.”

John Roberts, Head of IT, Lane7

With connected technology, central insight and a proven rollout model in place, Lane7 can continue to grow its competitive socialising portfolio with greater confidence and fewer technical constraints.
